The seas were rough and the wind never quit during the Mobile Big Game Fishing Club Memorial Day Tournament, but we had a great crew of hard core fisherman aboard, and we toughed it out.  Unfortunately, we couldn't quite come up with the winning fish.  We hooked a big Blue Marlin on Saturday, and had him near the boat several times.  Every time he got close he'd dive deep again, and finally we lost him.  It was a very disappointing experience for everyone, but we hung tough and kept trying.  A big thanks to all the KHS&S crew who fished this weekend.  You guys did a great job.  I guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching.

We still have a few openings left for day and overnight trips aboard the Expedition, so give us a call.  We'd love to take you fishing!

Fishing season is in full swing, the weather is warm, and the fishing's been great!!  Snapper season is open and we've had good success with the red snapper, triggerfish grouper and many other varieties of bottom fish.  We've also been catching quite a few yellow fin and black fin tuna on overnight trips.  We still have some openings left for June & July, but they're filling up fast, so call us today to book your trip.

P.S.  We're certainly looking forward to the upcoming Mobile Big Game Fishing Club Memorial Day Tournament.  Hopefully we'll have some decent luck with the marlin, swordfish & tuna.

Rough weather forced us to cancel last Saturday, and we spent a chilly day hanging around the dock and waiting to go fishing.  We were happy when the weather turned pretty on Sunday, and we were able to get out and catch a limit of Red Snapper, along with Bee-Liners, Trigger fish, and a couple of nice King Mackerels.  Even though Red Snapper season is now closed, it's still a great time to go fishing.  It's not too hot this time of year, and most of the time on the Gulf Coast it's not too cold either.  All signs indicate a good winter tuna bite, and anybody that's ever done it will tell you that late season tuna fishing is some of the most fun you can have on the water.  We are also still taking big game and overnight trips through the winter.

Calm seas and favorable winds have made for smooth sailing and good fishing over the last several weeks.  As we move into the fall winter tuna season, we're looking forward to getting offshore and catching some of the big boys.  The good news is that the dry weather of late has brought the blue water in closer.  I'll be posting another report after this weekend's trips.
